Some weeks, I let my hair breathe without twists, braids, or anything else. To switch things up every day, I need quick and easy styles I can do in 5 minutes flat, totally hassle-free. I save the more complex looks for the weekend. Here's a tutorial on a variation of the Afro Puff, which I pair with bangs to really liven things up! It's one of my favorite hairstyles!
Before touching your hair, don't forget to hydrate it with a water spray, to facilitate handling and prevent breakage.
1 - To create an afro puff with bangs, you will need:
- a large elastic band or a simple shoelace
- a brush to smooth down the hair on the sides.
2 - Take a fairly large section of hair at the front of your head and secure it with an elastic band.
3 - Grab your elastic band or shoelace to tie the rest of your hair upwards. Don't tighten the shoelace completely to maintain some volume at the back.
4 - You can now release the isolated front section, and style it so that it blends with the hair tied at the back.
